Almost 1,000 educators asked for a teacher-student chat feature in GoGuardian Teacher, and we delivered!
As shown in this introduction video, a robust messaging tool is now available for all active sessions of GoGuardian Teacher. Teachers and students are able to directly message each other to work through assignments, clarify instructions or areas of confusion, and identify helpful resources—without disrupting the class or drawing attention to students who need extra help.
This feature is thought to be particularly helpful with students requiring more assistance or personalized lesson plans.
“Allowing teachers and students to communicate more efficiently with Chat in GoGuardian Teacher is a major step toward improving the learning process, fully utilizing class time, and augmenting self-efficacy and self-confidence in students,” said GoGuardian Teacher Product Manager Tyler Shaddix.
“Teachers with English Language Learners and Special Needs Students in their classrooms have particularly emphasized the importance of being able to deliver tailored feedback and resources in real-time, without alerting the rest of the class that a student may be struggling,” he said. We’re honored to have the opportunity to connect students and teachers in a richer and more robust way.”
Existing classrooms set up in GoGuardian Teacher will have Chat disabled by default. All classrooms created now or in the future will have Chat enabled by default. Teachers can easily change these settings any time.
